Ben:

I am Canadian and don't recognize this as being anything I have encountered or seen.  Unlikely that anything over here would have spoked wheels like that.  In North America, we did have what are known here as "box-cab" locomotives. Some were diesel .. most were electric.  They looked something like your model.  The very first diesels run experimentally on the Canadian National Railways were box cabs.  One of these, #7700 (see below) was the first diesel switcher on the CNR and is preserved at Exporail, our National Railway Museum in Delson, Quebec.

There a bunch of boxcab pictures at http://www.northeast.railfan.net/diesel94.html.  Pictures of the pioneering CNR 9000/9001 Road Locomotives are shown below.  These were eventually scrapped.

Hello all
I have recently purchased this loco on e-bay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250371175069
does any one have any information on the loco it is based on please,
as you can see in the item description it is supposedly a canadian prototype, although im unsure if it is supposed to be of a diesel or an electric loco, i shall pick it up saturday so i shall take more photos then.

thanks in advance
Ben
