Maxicraft have a reputation here for building workmanlike models that are not, shall we say, super detailed.
It is worth noting that it is 2" scale so 20% under size approximately for a 2 foot gauge prototype made for 5" gauge here in the UK. So the originals were actually 1' 10 3/4" gauge and the export model is 4 3/4" gauge which fudges the numbers somewhat.
I have the rolling chassis for Don Young's 2 1/2" scale 5" gauge Hunslet seasoning under the bench for when time (and skill) permits, imho one of the prettiest little engines ever built, so long as you leave the cab off as originally intended.

The history of "Alice" can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_(Locomotive)

It appears that Accucraft is reselling this locomotive which is made by Maxitrak in the United Kingdon.  It seems to be the only item from the Maxitrak product line that Accucraft is selling at the moment.  Perhaps Accucraft is testing the market for the larger engines.

Maxitrak has made and is offering a number of very interesting narrow gauge locomotives in 5" and 7 1/4" gauuges.  Their site is worth a visit at http://www.maxitrak.co.uk/index.asp.  CLick on the small "specifications" button on the page for each loco to check out the gauge, etc.
