Here is a progress picture on the side frames. I had originally planned on building the Sweat Pea as an 0-4-0 and have since decided to complete it as an 0-4-2. I find the 0-6-0 intriguing although not very prototypical as a quarry locomotive.  The end beams are complete and the wheels need to be turned. Hopefully a project I can start this week as my lathe was tied up with another project up until now.

Any more details on the exhibition - would be great if you can post pictures of the event.  ;D

"Spent the day trying to find steel locally for the frames without any luck" I am lucky in that we live in a machining based city. I can usually get any material and tooling bits on demand. Also helps when our in-laws are in the steel business.  ;) Too bad shipping is so high overseas.

Spent the day trying to find steel locally for the frames without any luck looks like I'll have to buy laser cut frames from Wayne Roberts at $105au.
He is coming to our exhibition on July 7th and 8th

Well for the longest time I debated around the 0-4-0 or 0-4-2 debate. I help up the project as I did not want to continue until I was sure I knew what to do with the wheel configuration.  Finally the decision is made and I am going to continue as a 0-4-2 with tender. Now I can add blue dye to the frame and mark off the cut out for the trailing bogie and put her under the mill.
In the meantime here is a picture or two of the cylinders already complete and awaiting the said frames to be finished.
