That is certainly a "Speedy", a model of the ex GWR outside cylinder pannier tanks built to haul the empy stocks from Paddington to Old Oak Common, 16 coaches uphill. A very powerful little engine but heavy with a red route classification because of the axleloading. I have driven quite a few of the 5" models and also fired and driven many miles on the only preserved example on the Severn Valley Railway. The 5" models prove to be reliable performers, easy to drive and fire and easy to maintain with all the valve gear outside. (Not like my Beyer Peacock!!).

Dave.

Hi Mike
Thanks - I would be keen if it weren't for the incredible pile of projects already on my workbench.
"I have the construction book from MAP on that loco if you are interested".
Here are some more pictures of the Speedy at today's open house at the club. I had to leave early and we had a good crowd by noon. Cheers Ferd

Here is an 0-6-0 4.75" gauge loco ready to be fired and put in service on the highline. We have a 1200m loop on raised track that is dual 4.75/3.5" gauge. At the GHLS (Golden HorseShoe Live Steamers)
cheers
