Nice idea, our club loco is an Achilles - nice easy loco to drive, it must be I can ;D
The firebox was described to me as 'like a mine shaft' - just fill it up till it comes out the door!

Oh, it's 5" gauge and coal fired of course.

Here is a wonderfull Achilles made to run on both coal and propane. The switch in fuel source is a matter of pulling the pin holding in the grate and replacing it with either the coal grate or propane burner. Watching it run makes the conversion appealing. Although comments were overheard from the hard core coal engineers to the effect of "nice except its only just above a clockwork locomotive", "takes all the fun out of it if you can't inhale coal fumes". cheers Ferd

The description from Reeves : "Achilles, 0-6-0 Tank Loco
Developed from Ajax where extra adhesion is required for 5" gauge. Most parts identical with 0-4-0 version, but full details given. Drawings also a combined set with Ajax"
